For most internet-only plans, no, you don't need an annual contract. This means you aren't tied down to a long-term contract and won't face early termination fees.
Will my promotional rate change after a year or two?
Yes, the initial price is a promotional rate, typically guaranteed for one or two years. Once that period ends, your monthly rate will likely increase to the standard price, usually by $10–$20 per month.
Is there a pay-as-you-go or month-to-month plan?
Absolutely. We offer StraightUp Internet, which is a prepaid plan. You pay a flat fee monthly, and it comes with no term agreement, no credit check, and no modem rental fee.

What is Cox Panoramic Wifi?
Panoramic Wifi is our combined modem and router (called a Gateway) that delivers a powerful, reliable Wi-Fi signal designed to give you wall-to-wall coverage in your home.
What tools come with Panoramic Wifi?
You get access to the Panoramic Wifi App. This app gives you total control to change your network settings, set up Parental Controls, manage connected devices, and even pause the internet for specific devices or profiles.
Can I get rid of Wi-Fi dead zones in my house?
Yes! If you rent the Panoramic Wifi Gateway, you can add Panoramic Wifi Pods. These are small extenders that plug into any wall outlet to boost the signal to those hard-to-reach areas.

Speed & Data Usage

How fast is Cox Internet?
We offer a range of speeds from basic browsing plans up to super-fast options with up to 2 GIG (2,000 Mbps) download speeds. The specific top speed available depends on your service area.
Does Cox enforce a data limit?
All residential internet plans come with a generous 1.25 TB (1,280 GB) of data each month, which covers the needs of most families.
What happens if I go over the 1.25 TB data limit?
We’ll let you know if you’re close to the limit. If it's your very first time going over, we give you a one-time courtesy credit. After that, you'll be charged $10 for every additional 50 GB you use, up to a maximum overage charge of $100 per month.

Can I bundle my internet with other Cox services?
Absolutely. Cox offers bundles that combine Internet with TV, Home Phone, and Cox Mobile services. Bundling provides better overall value and simpler billing.
How do I check my current data usage?
You can easily check your usage using the Data Usage Meter in your Cox App or through My Account on Cox.com. We'll also notify you via text or email when you reach certain usage thresholds.
